Grandview is located within the Chestnut Ridge
School District, just outside of Bedford, Pennsylvania. Excellent
medical facilities are nearby, including those operated by the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Additionally,
Bedford County has many significant ties to American heritage and
history. Bedford County is home to fourteen covered bridges.
Downtown Bedford offers many historic buildings, including the Espy
House (a national historic landmark) where President George Washington
resided during the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794. Old Bedford Village
offers insight on how early settlers in this area lived, along with live
re-enactments. Bedford Springs, a former Presidential retreat, is
in the process of a ninety million dollar restoration. It is close
to Blue Knob Four Seasons Resofr, Raystown Lake, and the Juniata River,
all of which provide abundant outdoor recreational opportunities from
kayaking and canoeing to trout fishing and hunting. Bedford County
also hosts a Fall Foliage Festival the first two weekends in October
which attracts more than 30,000 visitors annually for its craftsman and
vibrant fall foliage |

Old Bedford Village Playhouse, the Mountain
Playhouse, and Cresson Lake Playhouse all offer unique theater
experiences in the area. There are several local wineries,
including the Helixville Winery, Oak Spring Winery, and Glades Pike
Winery. Nearby Johnstown, Pennsylvania is home to the Pasquerilla
Performing Arts Center, the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, the Johnstown
Concert Ballet and an annual Folkfest. |
